       Hello, this is Maroof Iftekher Russel from Bangladesh. Do you know about my country? This is a very small country measuring only 144,000 square kilometer. Bangladesh is situated in southern part of Asia between India & Myanmar. To the south of my country, there is the Bay of Bengal. 

          I live in Dhaka which is the capital city of Bangladesh. My home district is Tangail. I completed my MSS in Economics from Asian University of Bangladesh. Now I am working at 'Promotional Section' under 'Program Department' of a private Television channel since February 2006 as Senior Executive.

When I was 10 months old

          I grew up in old part of Dhaka where I passed some quality times with my childhood friends. Ah! those memorable golden days! I always feel nostalgic about those days. Because during childhood you don't think or come across the complexity of life. No tension about earning, no tension about daily life expenditures, no politics, no worries....just study and play !  You don't have to bother about the sick 'Rat race' of competitive life. In fact, all of us might have passed a very easy, simple and peaceful life in childhood.

          I used to fly kites during my childhood and also loved to play cricket. Reading book is my all time favorite hobby. I also have passion for Photography, Fish keeping and Cycling. I like to watch my beautiful fishes swimming in the aquarium. At leisure time, I watch English movies, cricket and football matches or documentary films on animals in dish channels. I also browse different websites to gather knowledge and to be acquainted with new people.

Cycling keeps you in a good shape

          I am a member of a 'Cyclist' group of Bangladesh named 'BDCyclists'. Sometimes, I go to cycle ride with this group. Everybody knows that Cycling is very good exercise for health. For the past three years I am regularly traveling from residence to office riding my bicycle. I always try to encourage all of my friends, relatives and colleagues to use bicycle for daily transportation.  It is not only good for your health, but also very good for the environment. Most importantly it saves much of our precious time and expenditure in daily transport.

          I live in a joint family. My parents, my wife, younger brother and his wife live in the same apartment. My wife is a lovely caring lady who is studying at MA in Economics in Eden College. My younger brother is a pharmacist who is working in the top pharmaceutical company of our country named Square Pharmaceuticals. His wife is the Head of Management Department of a private college named Queen's College.

          My wife and my brother are my best friends. My father is a retired School teacher. He was the Senior Teacher in English literature and now owns a publishing house. He has composed many books by himself and also publishes books from other writers. My mother was the Headmistress of a Girl's High School. After retiring from her job she became home maker. All together we lead a very peaceful and happy family life.
